If you love dessert and your love breakfast πŸ™‹ then you will love this Chocolate Smoothie Bowl! Literally feels like you are eating dessert for breakfast πŸ˜‹

With summer fast approaching here in NZ, I am starting to crave smoothies again! I went off them for a bit over winter and opted for warmer meals and snacks….as most people naturally do.

The trick to getting your breakfast smoothie to fill you up is to make sure you add a source of health fat. I will usually add coconut milk (which also makes it super tasty!) and then top it with nuts and seeds. The best combo is this chocolate smoothie bowl topped with Homemade Muesli or the Cacao & Goji Berry Muesli….the BEST!!! 🀀

Chocolate Smoothie Bowl


1/2 cup of liquid (coconut milk, almond milk, coconut water, water etc.)
1 frozen banana
1 large handful of fresh spinach or kale
1 scoop of vanilla or chocolate protein powder (100% natural ingredients)
1 Tbsp cacao powder or 100% cocoa powder
Toppings of your choice: cacao nibs, cashews, desiccated coconut, chopped walnuts and goji berries.


  1. Place all ingredients into a high speed blender. Blend until smooth, adding more liquid until your desired consistency is achieved - depending on how thick you like it.

  2. Pour into a bowl and top with your chosen ingredients.

Serves 1
